Announcing a free service to Sun City Anthem residents who have not yet chosen or might wish to change their Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
The SCA Community Association in conjunction with the Sun City Anthem Computer Club has arranged for interested members of the community to have a free, one-on-one consultation with a Medicare Part D counselor from the Nevada State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).
The Medicare prescription drug program offers Nevada residents approximately 30 different plans from which to choose. Signups are voluntary, but if you are eligible and don't sign up within your eligibility window, you may be faced with a penalty if you choose to sign up later.
For those of you already participating in a plan it is important to check each year whether your current plan is still the best one for you. Most plans change their pricing each year and may change their formulary or other buying policies and conditions. If you have changed the drugs you are taking during this year, the program that worked for you this year may not be the best one for you next year.
